Abandon: A detective with a troubled past is asked to look into the disappearance of a college student. However, while doing so he finds himself allured to the missing scholar’s lover. Gloomy mystery movie with supernatural components that. Don’t quite work. Stephen Gaghan directs this film. (2002 Drama)
The Goonies: A lot of babies go looking for concealed treasure in this old-styled venture yam from a tale by Steven Spielberg, who might have recollected Our Clique’s Mom’s Pirate. Gigantic, energetic, and incredibly loud, aimed squarely at babies, with a likable lot of babies onscreen. Additionally it takes proper use of Max Steiner’s swashbuckling topic from Ventures of Don Juan. Cast includes Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Corey Feldman, Kern Green, Martha Plimpton, John Matuszak, and Anne Ramsey, Joe Pantoliano. (114 minutes, 1985)

He was embezzling money from the mob, and giving it away to worthy causes. He has jumped bail after being arrested for his role with the mob. Now bounty hunter Jack Walsh has him and will be bringing him to LA. He has a few problems to del with. The following people want Mardukas before he gets to LA: the mafia wants him dead, the FBI wants him for questioning, and rival bounty hunters want the bounty. To make things worse Mardukas won’t fly. Can Jack overcome the odds and deliver his man in time and collect his $100,000?
Strange Invaders: Caring spoof of ‘ 50s sci-fi films with a feel of ’80s New Wave, in reference to a Midwestern town overtaken by foreigners. Has a remarkable feel to it although agonizes from weak inscribing and lazy pacing. Here is an evocative score by John Addison. Cast includes Paul LeMat, Nancy Allen, Diana Scarwid, Michael Lerner, Louise Fletcher, and June Lockhart. (94 minutes, 1983)
The Lawnmower Man: Jobe is retarded. He lives the simple life of mowing lawns. Dr. Lawrence Angelo wants to see if he can develop intelligence artificially. With some drugs, and a connection to virtual learning through a super computer, Jobe starts learning at an incredible rate. The question is, what are the consequences?
Jarhead: This movie takes you from boot camp through a tour of duty in the Gulf War. As the soldiers poor into Iraq they meet little resistance. Many of the soldiers are eager to see some action. It’s what they have been training for.
The Red Shoes: Finished with integrity and a pulsing stone soundtrack. Cast includes Anton Walbrook, and Marius Gorin. (133 minutes, 1948)
