Tips On Paying For Advertising
Tips On Paying For Advertising
I hate spending a penny of my hard earned money on advertising, if you want traffic, sales or just exposure you can do it all for free with what is available to you on the Internet. I am a strong believer in free advertising unless you have a really good reason. If you do want to pay for advertising I suggest taking some notice of what I have to say as I have paid for advertising a few times over the years and now I have my own criteria for successful paid advertising.
Search engine optimization is now a big factor for most websites and throughout the life of your website you want to promote your site in a seo fashion and even when you pay for links you can help your seo efforts. Google likes you to have inbound links from relevant sites and if you can try to get them somewhere within the content rather than sidebar you will be able to get more conversions.
When I do look for a site to advertise on they have to be the best site for my market and must have my type of customers flocking to it each day. I don’t want to advertise on a site thats not going to send me customers, the whole point of advertising is to make money, right?
My site is about seo and link building, I make money through my main services which is directory submissions so if I want to find a site to advertise on I already know that it has to have other website owners visiting it as that’s my target market.
Traffic is the main factor for advertising, but when you advertise online you can use that advert to help in other ways, look for sites with high pagerank because if you do decide to get a link from them they will be sharing there pagerank juice with you and will help increase your pagerank in the long run.
So the main factor to look out for is traffic and how relevant it is to yours, the second thing is when you produce a link use your keywords and look for relevant site. The 3rd thing to lookout for is how popular that is, i.e who’s linking to it how many mentions has it got and its overall reputation. Reputation is important, you should start to make a reputation for yourself as soon as your site has been released. If you have an attractive website and a bad reputation then there’s no point operating. Due to allot of scammers and Internet fraud most users will research a site before purchasing from it if its there first time.
I mentioned one of my services is directory submissions so what I would do is type that term into google along with my other keywords and jot down all the site that appear in the top 5 positions, then I would research each site against my criteria and make a list of the top sites, then with those tops sites I would pick the most likely website to send me traffic that will convert into sales.
Remember if your going to pay for something you want the highest quality possible, don’t me bullied or settle for less.
