Today, you will find quite a lot of blogs and wesites about blogs on the Internet. As a result, it might be difficult to differentiate your website from the ones of your competitors. However, you have to add your personal touch to it to stay different from the other sites. These days, a unique character is what differentiates a popular site from the other ones. Today’s bloggers react remarkably strong to that attribute. As a result, think about how you can produce that matchless and appealing feeling through your own design and content.

When you have identified a niche you are passionate about so that you are able to create relevant and good unique content, and your site is presenting that matchless personality that lets it stand out, how to get recognized in the wide world of bloggers? How to create traffic? Only having a good idea doesn’t produce flourishing blogging websites. It also requires a clever and practical marketing plan to draw traffic to your site. Once a blogger likes and enjoys your site and gets hooked, the unique content will make him return. However, it is important to get that first brief look. Submission Wars – Article Submission v Blog Submission

Anyone involved with search engine opitmization (SEO) will be able to tell you about the value of article marketing and blog marketing.  While the two disciplines are very similar, this article will explore the difference between the two.

Article marketing, simply put is the writing of an article, which you then submit to as many article sites as possible.  At the bottom of your article, some of these sites will allow you to include a short bio, with some details about you or your business and a link to your website.

The idea is to write as many articles as possible and to submit them to as many article archive sites as possible.  The advantages of doing this are twofold.  The first is that when people are searching these archives for information about some or other topic, they may see your article listed in the search results and read it.  If they find it interesting enough, you may expect a click on the link in your bio and in doing so you can increase web traffic to your website. 

The second advantage is that of link building and this is really the big advantage.  You see, article archive sites are very popular with search engines and the good ones, frequently rank highly for even non-article related search terms in the search engines.

In order to include these sites in their results that search engines need to crawl the sites.  In so doing they will discover the link to your website in your bio.

For search engines, generic, one way back links are very important for a good ranking.  Therefore, if you frequently submit articles to such sites, the search engines will pick up more and more links back to your website.  The more quality, one way links the search engines pick up, the more highly your website will rank in the search results for the terms you use.

Therefore, if you want to promote your site effectively, one very good way of doing so is by article submission.

The problem with article submission is that it takes a lot of time.  Each site has its own rules and your article can be rejected, without you ever knowing why.  Some sites don’t even allow bio’s.  Another thing that can be frustrating with article submission is the moderation process.  You see, the article first needs to be approved and this can take a lot of time, sometimes even weeks.

Many article submission sites also promise to promote your article to 10 000 other sites, but if you have done any article submission, you will know that this is mostly not true.

While article submission can take long and be frustrating it could be worth your while, especially with a tool such as Articlesubmitter.  This is a free tool that makes the process somewhat easier and it can be downloaded here: http://articlesubmitter.imwishlist.com .

So what about blog marketing then, how does that work.  Blog marketing works very much the same as article submission, with a few notable advantages.

While most article submission sites are owned by corporations, many, in fact most blogs are owned by individuals.  I will explain the significance of this a bit later on in the article.

Effectively, with blog marketing you would be submitting your article to a blog, instead of an article directory.

There are many advantages and few disadvantages to this method.  The first advantage is that as I stated earlier, most blogs are owned by individuals.  This means that they are less likely to have such strict regulations as article directories.

It is also in their interest to include good quality articles on their blogs, because the search engines are also constantly crawling those blogs and looking for fresh content.  The more frequently a site is updated with fresh content, the more the search engines like such a site and that will in turn such a site’s ranking in the search engine results pages (SERP’s).

So, unless your article is of bad quality, or irrelevant, most bloggers would be keen to accept your article. This brings us to another advantage of blog marketing.

With an article you are submitting to a blog, you are not bound by the bio box.  Most bloggers will allow you to include hyperlinks in your article.  These links would of course point to your website with the appropriate anchor text.  These are also one way, generic back links (if the article is written in a natural style) and the search engines will love them.

In fact, the search engines will love these links even better because of the anchor text and because they appear naturally and not in some bio box.

A further advantage is that most serious bloggers work on their blogs daily and so they are more likely to include your article in their blog, much quicker than would an article submission website.  In addition, there are so many more blogs out there than article submission sites.

Of course you don’t want to be guilty of link spamming (having to many links in a piece of text), so you will want to limit your links to about three per article, but this is already two more than you would be allowed with most article directories and your one way links will increase exponentially faster this way.

It is clear that submitting your article to blogs have many advantages that you don’t have with article directories.

The only problem is to find blogs to submit to.  It is not really that difficult, though.  There are many blog directories, where you can find indexes of blogs within certain niches.  Some are free and some are paid for, but in my experience you really want to go for quality (and that mostly means paid sites – they are worth it though).

One such directory that stands head and shoulders about the competition is My Article Network and I will tell you why I prefer them.  Not only are they a blog directory, but they already have over 10,000 blogs subscribed to the directory.  This means that your article could potentially be submitted to 10,000 blogs at a time.  This will never really happen though, because not all blogs will fall into your category.

What is even better, is that they do all the work for you.  All you do is write your article, select your category and they will submit it to all blogs in that category automatically.  Even better, they do it in a timed fashion.  This means that the article is not submitted to all blogs all at once.  By doing it in a timed fashion, it looks more natural to search engines, not that there is anything wrong with submitting to more than one blog at a time.

They even keep statistics of all your articles, how well they are performing (acceptance rate) and allow you to add as many website (that other bloggers can post to), per subscription as you want.  So not only will your article get out there on the net, but you will also regularly have fresh content for your blog!

You can even choose to either automatically accept all posts to your blog or to select only those you want.

As I said, as far as blog submission directories go, My Article Network stands head and shoulders above the rest.  I have been using them for about three months and have already achieved over 4,300 links back to my website – that is some serious link traffic!  It has also helped me to rank significantly better for my selected keywords.

So there you have the advantages and disadvantages of article and blog marketing.  If it looks as if I am promoting My Article Network, it is because I am, they are simply without equal out there.

A new phenomenon that has become immensely popular amongst Internet users is “Blogging”. The term refers to making an online journal and which uses a reverse chronological order to display contents. It is at the blog owner’s discretion how many blog entries to make and when. New posts may be put up once every day, a week, a month or more than once. He can also opt to post less often. It all depends on his own choice.

More often than not, the postings on a blog are interrelated in some manner. This is, however, not the case always and bloggers may write about anything they want to randomly. The reasons why a blog owner may decide to start up a blog may be varied. The topics can may be private or of a public nature. In this article, I will unveil to you the difference between a private and a public blog. Also, the use of blogs for personal reasons and creating and maintaining a blog for professional use will be highlighted.

Private Blogs viz-a-viz Public Blogs

Blogs can be divided into many different categories. One way to do that is to separate them into private and personal blogs. In private blogs, only people that have been approved and given permission by the blog owner can view posts and leave comments.

Giving a blog a public or private status depends on the blogger’s level of comfort with the idea of other’s reading his posts. To further illustrate the point, let’s take the example of a person who wants to blog about his anger and frustration at different things happening in his life.

This would make for very personal writings so the blogger may choose to make his blog private so as to avoid family or friends stumbling upon it by chance. On the other hand, a blogger who is writing in order to promote his business or a cause that he feels strongly about would want others to visit his blog. This is due to the fact that the more traffic he is able to generate for his blog the more financial benefits he would procure for himself or he will be able to arouse curiosity and awareness about his cause.

Other kinds of blogs that mainly contain pieces of poetry, fiction or rants about general things may either be public or private. It would largely depend on the blogger’s decision whether to make his feelings open to public scrutiny or not. There are some bloggers who prefer to let their blog remain to public so other’s who have similar interests or who are going through the same kind of a phase through their life would get some consolation or hope.

Professional Blogging

Creating and maintaining a blog may actually be financially rewarding for some bloggers. Several companies have started to cash in on this opportunity to promote their services or products by keeping a number of blogs and hiring bloggers to update these regularly.

The bloggers are paid according to the number of posts they submit, the word count of the post, the amount of hits their posts receive, or it can be a combination of both these methods of determining a blogger’s worth in monetary terms. Blogging, as a career, is a tough job that asks for a fair amount of dedication from the blog writer. It is the blogger’s duty to supply a regular stream of posts to the blog and to ensure it is of a high quality.

Personal Blogging

Individuals may create their own blogs to give vent to their personal feelings. Blog owners use them to stay in contact with their circle of friends or family. Others blog in order to give expression to their thoughts or to provide information to readers about some subject. Some personal blogs can be loads of fun. However, a word of caution to such bloggers!

They must be careful they don’t stress themselves too much with the effort to maintain their blog. Personal blogs should be a healthy and enjoyable way of passing time and at no point should become a cause for stress.

While it’s been around for several years, professional blogging has skyrocketed to the top ranks of online money makers. When it comes to professional blogging there are a few distinctions to be known. Firstly, there are the types that blog for companies. There are a lot of companies that hire people who are professional bloggers to maintain their blogs. These people earn lot’s of money writing about that companies products and the company itself. While not everyone does this, it is another great way to earn money blogging.

There are the professional bloggers out there who write on various important topics, such as current events. and get paid to do so. I would have to say that part of this group writes because the topic they are writing on is something they feel passionately about, however they do not get paid to write in their blogs.

The other part of this group is similar to the first, they write because they are passionate on the subject, however they are also making an income out of their blogs.

The next type is the one becoming rather popular. This type consists of people who earn money blogging full time while at home. They blog about anything and everything and earn a sustainable income off of their blogs.

It took me a few years to discover the true potential of this type of blogging, but what I found out was that I not only enjoyed working but i loved it! It took a bit of time for me to iron out the kinks but there are tons of way for any individual to earn money simply by blogging.

If you are making the decision to become a professional blogger there are plenty of options available for you. I personally enjoy blogging from home on several different topics that I like to do in my free time.

There are many ways to monetize your blogs so that they can earn you money, and countless ways to publicize them and bring in the traffic you need to be a successful professional blogger.

There are plenty of people willing to teach you what they know, the main problem I came across when first learning how to become a professional blogger was weeding out the good information from the bad. My advice is, if anyone is offering to sell you their products do a thorough search on them. Google their name, and their product and see what people really have to say.

These are tough times and everyone is looking to add to their income. You might want to do some additional work online, or you might want to eventually make it your sole source of livelihood. Be A Successful Work At Home Mom And Make Money Online

A mom searching for a way to make money online so that she can be a work at home mom will find an abundance of possibilities. For every legitimate way to make money online there are dozens of others that are less than authenticate. Being able to find proven methods that work takes time.

A good alternative to weeding through all of these “opportunities” is to read about moms that are already successfully making money online by being a work at home mom. Finding these moms is as simple as reading blogs written by them. My quest to be a work at home mom began by reading hundreds of blogs of moms who each have various methods of making money online.

All that reading lead me to decide to try blogging using sponsored posts.

In order to begin blogging a mom first needs to decide on a blogging platform. There are quite a few available, but not all are free. I chose Blogger since I wanted to see if it was possible to make money online without much expense. The only thing I paid for was my domain name, which only cost ten dollars. But it isn’t even necessary to have a domain name.

Starting a blog is as simple as deciding on a name and what direction the blog should take in terms of material and signing up with your platform of choice. These simple steps will lead to the ability to make money online with either sponsored posts or ads. I personally have two blogs. One of them I use payperpost and the other blog I use SocialSpark.

Payperpost allows a blogger with a blog that is only thirty days old and ten post written within that time period to start earning money to blog. Although Payperpost and SocialSpark are owned by the same parent company called Izea, SoicalSoark has more stringent requirements. They require blogs to be at least ninety days old and twenty posts within that period of time in order to start earning money to blog. These are only two of the companies that pay bloggers to write posts.

There are also other methods to earn money with a blog, such as through advertising. Google Adsense and Amazon are only two of many companies that will pay a blogger a percentage of the earnings from the sales of products that were sold through ads placed on a blog. This method sounds good and there are some success stories using ads to earn money online, but unless a blog has a lot of traffic on a daily basis this is not always an easy or quick way to begin making money online.

It is possible for a blog to earn money using this method, but first a constant flow of traffic needs to be established. I first tried this method of monetizing one of my blogs and didn’t find that it worked very well for my blog situation.

Anyone who wants to be a work at home mom and make money online by blogging needs to realize that both methods for making money blogging are legitimate, but are not for those that think this will be a way to get rich quick. Although blogging can be fun at times, it is work. Even if you are a very talented writer you will still have to work at getting traffic to come to your blog as this will be key for making money with either payed posts or ads. One of the most popular blogging tools online is a website called Entrecard.

This site alone will not only help a beginning blogger to drive traffic to her blog, but also will provide access to many different types of blogs. Entrecard is strictly for bloggers, but there are other companies that will help drive traffic to your blog that do not cater to bloggers specifically.

Link Referral is one such site where a new blogger can go to bring traffic to her blog as well as get feedback on blog style and load times. For a new blogger just starting out it would be wise to use several different methods. Taking these very basic steps in starting a blog will help a mom reach her goal of making money online and being a work at home mom so that she can be available for her children.
