Budget Friendly Movie Making Software

One of the Open Source Marketer Members recently asked, “What video making program is good to use when making a video of a compilation of photos, video clips? It would be great if you could also add in title screens.”

The answer depends partly on whether you’re on a PC or Mac, whether you want to spend money or not, and whether you want to do your editing online or offline. Here are the top three solutions I recommend for creating video along with a few extra resources I’ve collected while doing research on video production

Video Editing Software

Camtasia offers video creation and editing capabilities on both the PC and Mac. You can use the software for screen capture videos and editing video from other sources. You can include lots of transitions,effects, and titles, and you can export in multiple formats. Camtasia isn’t cheap, but it does do a solid job of producing the video you need for your website video.

Online Video Editing

Animoto lets you upload images, video clips, music, and mp3 audio clips to create custom video compilations that can be downloaded for use in other video projects or embedded on other websites. Since all the cinematic magic is automatically handled for you by Animoto, you don’t get access to a video editing software studio where you can trim clips and add in custom effects. But, you do have the ability to add in text titles, highlight specific pictures or video clips, and you can remix the clip until you get just the right mix of effects There is a free version and a paid version of the service and their pricing is very reasonable for the value they offer.

Pixorial offers more of a video editing experience with their Pixorial Producer product. The service is free if you are only sharing your videos with friends on Facebook, or you can pay $1.99 to download a DVD quality version of your video. They also offer other video services like VHS video importing, and bulk DVD creation. You can import video, and add transitions and titles, but there’s no option for importing audio, or still images.

JayCut is a free online, community based, video editing and sharing service. You can import your video, audio, photos for mixing your own movies. They offer titles, and transitions, and you can organize your media online into folders. Their video editor is simple to use, but the transitions are a little confusing. It’s just a matter of time spent before you get the hang of the tool. When you first upload videos and photos, it takes a while for them to show up correctly. I’m not sure why that is, but just be aware that you might want to upload your media, and then give everything 20 – 30 minutes to do any processing on their end before your clips are available as you expect. JayCut is similar to Jump Cut which was purchased by Yahoo and then shut down. I prefer offline editing tools, but if you’re looking to tap into a community of video editing, then JayCut is something to look at.

Movie Masher offers free open source video editing tools that can be installed on your website so you can let you users mix video, audio, images and text. You can control everything about the editing interface and underlying functionality, and build your own controls, effects, transitions and titles in Adobe Flash™. The whole thing is free and if you’re technical muscles are strong, it would be a great thing to integrate into your website.

Free Screen Capture Software

CamStudio is a free Windows only, screen capture tool. It works very much like Camtasia, exports to SWF Flash movie format, allows for captioning,  and is a great tool for recording your screen.

Jing Project offers a free PC or Mac option for recording screen capture videos and the tool can export to a paid screen cast hosting solution, upload to YouTube, or export to your local hard drive as an SWF Flash movie format. Overall this is another great tool for recording video, but it doesn’t provide the video editing features we’re looking for, like video, photo, and audio importing.

How to Do Wiring for an LCD TV

So you have a HDTV and you are getting ready to wall mount it using a TV wall mount. There are important things to consider when tackling a project like this. The placement of the HDTV, what kind of wall mount to use, proper installation and how to do the wiring and cabling.

One hidden expense with this type of project is the wiring and cabling. If you are not careful, you can easily be spending over $100. It might seem like a waste of money to some but doing the wiring properly does affect the sound and picture quality. You really do not want a hum in the sound or static in the picture. So planning ahead is key.

Some important things to remember when doing wiring and cabling for your TV are the following:

- What are the best types of cables? – What should the length of the wires be? – Where do I run the cables?

What Kinds of Wires Should be Used

There are a variety of options and wiring choices on the back your digital TV. You should have component, composite and HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface). If you want the best picture and sound (which is why you bought a nice digital TV in the first place), then go with the HDMI connection. It is a digital connection, so you will have virtually no signal loss, because with digital, either the data is there or it is not there. There is no in-between. If you cannot use an HDMI connection for some reason, then go with composite or else go with S-video but the picture will not be as good.

If you look at prices for HDMI cables, you will find some at $80 and some online at $12, so whats the difference between cheap and expensive HDMI cables? The price! If a cable is going to have dropouts, then it is defective. Cheap HDMI cables work fine. Really the only difference is going to be if you are doing a lot of rewiring of your home theater system. But most people just have a home theater they unhook when they move and are not video production companies. You might as well save your money.

The Length of Cables to Use

Here is a tip that the pros use to get the right length of cable. Get a spool of string or yarn and some measuring tape. Run the yarn through where the cable is going to go. Then cut or mark the string and then measure it. Add about a foot more for some play. Doing this step, which only takes a few minutes, can save you from running back to the electronics store with an open package to return because the cable was not long enough.

You should try to keep wires as short as possible to reduce any signal loss that might occur. The maximum length for HDMI cables is 50 feet, which may sound like a lot but for some home theater setups, that might be too short. In that case, you should look into other available options.

Where to Run Those Cables

Where to run the cables will, of course, depend on your particular setup. If you are going to use a LCD TV wall mount, then it is nice to run the cables through the wall to help hide them. You cannot run power cords through the wall as that is not safe. So you may need to hire an electrician to put in an extra outlet up where the TV will be mounted.

If you cannot run wires through the wall, then your next option is getting a conduit. They mount to the wall between your digital TV and the components below. These can sometimes be painted to help match the wall color and decor of the room, making them almost invisible and keeping things looking clean.

About Technologies Used In Projector Lamps

In the beginning of the projector lamp creation the first producers used as source of power mercury gas packed at high pressure in order to achieve the right level of brightness called ANSI LUMENS. This was considered over the years a very dangerous and hazardous source of energy and was eliminated.

The nowadays projector lamps function on different principles. The light of the lamp is broken in a color prism containing red, green and blue, the three major components of the video signal. These lamps work with polarized light that goes through an LCD panel. The pixels resulted are can be opened or closed blocking the light or allowing it to pass. The three resulted images are then combined in a mirror system and projected on the main lens.

These types of projector lamp technology use haloids and are part from the family of the lamps with gas unloading (born from the ancient lamps using mercury vapors). This technology is used because of its possibility of controlling the temperature of color in the resulted light due to the possibility of manipulating the right combination in the gases from the interior. This is a very efficient technology because 24% of the energy is used to produce light which is a lot more productive that in the case of florescent and incandescent light bulbs.

Due to the high temperature of the lamps functioning is mandatory for the projector lamps technology to have a cooling system. Depending on the interior design and the dimensions of the lamp this system can be more or less noisy.

Another technology for the projector lams is the digital light processing. Instead of pixels this technology is based on microscopic mirrors. Each mirror is mounted on a special support which allows it to be inclined so that will reflect the light or redirect it to some place else.

When the mirror is set on ON position the light is reflected through the lens system which is used for its projection. When the mirror is set for Off position the light is focused of a photo absorbent surface.

When Did Microsoft Release Halo 3?

On May 15, 2007 the information was out, that Halo 3 would be released on September 25 in North America and the 26th in Europe. Halo 3 was the third in a wildly popular series for the Xbox 360 called ‘Halo’. According to the vice president of Microsoft’s interactive entertainment business, Halo 3′s release was much more than only a video game release, it was the biggest entertainment event of the year. He might just have been right as well.

The full history of Halo 3 actually has to begin with the release of the first game in the series ‘Halo: Combat Evolved’. In November, 2001, when Halo was first released, game consoles were something of a nonsense as one-person shoot-em-up games. Sure, some games existed, but there weren’t the popular communities that the PC games in the genre had.

That all changed with Halo, in which players could battle aliens on foot and in vehicles, completing objectives, while trying to uncover the secret of the Halo. Halo was the first to limit the amount of weapons a player could carry to two, which meant forcing the player to make strategic decisions.

People waited for the release of Halo 3 with baited breath. They awaited the continuation of the one-person, shoot-em-up combat format that had been dominant in the two previous parts of Halo. Microsoft calls it the ‘Golden Triangle of Halo’, which consists of gun-type weapons, grenades and others. In actuality, this was nothing new to one-person, shoot-em-up games, as it had been around since the very first Doom and even the predecessor to that game, “Wolfenstein”.

So, with all of that previous history, people were full of excitement over the Halo 3 release date. How popular and welcome was the game? Well, before its release, 3.1 million copies were sold in advance orders and retailers thought that that was not enough.

The game grossed $300 million in the United States in just its first week. Overall it has sold over nine million copies worldwide and was the best-selling video game in the United States in 2007. Even the critics liked it, putting it the seventh highest in the all-time list of Xbox 360 games.

The Halo 3 release date, like the release date of many wildly popular video games was almost like a holiday like Christmas or Easter. It beggars the question of what will happen in the realm of video games in the future?

The best titles for your Xbox 360

Searching for a Xbox 360 game can be a little bit tough, because of the amount of titles that are piled on retail shelves daily. Although this is much more expensive than most Xbox Live games, it should definitely be a part of your gaming collection.

Choosing a title can be hard if you really are unaware of what to look for in a game. Make sure that you do some extensive research on the gaming titles out there to see which ones fit you so that you get the most for your money.

One of the biggest challenges for low to middle end cameras is capturing images in low light. They usually appear blurred and too dark. Recent improvements in ISO are taking care of this issue, with ISO speeds in the range of 3,000 you can take any shot in dim light!

Thus, if you will take photos in low light, it is always a good idea to figure out the highest ISO on the camera you intend to buy and not settle for one with an ISO lower than 800.

If you want something that is sleek and stylish, either one of these cameras will do well for a teenager. It also will depend on the type of pictures to teenagers want to take whether you buy a Minolta or Canon.

Good camera prices, and digital cameras for kids, don’t always find themselves on the same shelf. There are however deals out there for the savvy consumer, who knows what to look for, and when to buy.
