One of the things people do to try and make some extra money during the recession is a home based business.  One type of home based business in particular really gets popular. That business is network marketing.  During a down economy network marketing companies historically always grow.  Since so many people try it in this type of economy.Let’s examine the things that allows a person to be successful in network marketing.

One thing you will notice as in any business is that some people make it.  But you will also notice most people fail.In network marketing it won’t be any different. But the key to why people make it is not in the network marketing opportunities. No the key is found in another place.And the moment a person learns what the secret is, they will be able to make it as well.

The key is learning how to do mlm prospecting.In MLM what goal you should have is to try and grow a big team.That team that you build is what is going to allow you to earn residual income.  If you can show them how to duplicate what you are doing that is where the residual comes in.  But none of that happens unless a person knows how to do some prospecting.  If they can’t bring anybody into the business, they can never earn residual.So until they are able to start bringing people into the business, all the other things can wait.

Things such as teaching and training does not mean a thing.  Things like selling your product doesn’t matter.None of that means a thing until they can prospect.  Once again people have to stop looking at the top network marketing companies and focus on developing the skill of recruiting.Because once they learn that skill, they can do anything since they can recruit at will.It doesn’t make a difference what business they join.  They will be able to succeed.So the trick is to learn how to prospect.Learn that skill and success can be theirs.

Adwords Bans: Poor Landing Page Quality Scores

Over this last weekend, some Adwords users have received a warning email from Google stating that their landing pages are of poor quality and do not comply with Google’s landing page and site quality guidelines.

Some users have already been banned outright.

Here’s an automated response from one user who queried the ban:

As the email you received on Friday explained, your account has been suspended due to multiple submissions of poor quality landing pages. We are unable to revoke your account suspension, and we will not accept advertisements from you in the future

Check out the discussions at Webmasterworld and the Google AdWords Forum. Has there been a change in quality standards? Perhaps a harder enforcement of a previously lax rule?

Naturally, webmasters are irate. There appears to be no official comment from Google, but we’ll keep you posted.

In the meantime, let’s take a look at Google landing page quality standards.

Adwords Landing Page Standards

Google introduced a quality score back in 2005. This quality score covered various data points, including the ad text and click through rates, and helps ensure the user finds what they’re look for.

Soon after, Google added a landing page score to the mix.

This score evaluated the landing page in terms of relevance i.e. the page should reflect the promise made by the ad.

The text also must be original, so that users aren’t seeing the exact same landing page if they click on different ads. There should not be excessive pop-ups, or any means to “trap” the user i.e. disabling the back button.

In many ways, these policies mirror the type of sites Google ranks in the organic serps, relevancy to the keyword term being the primary requirement.

Here are Google’s official landing page standards.

Now, Google uses an automated bot to determine compliance, yet Google doesn’t provide a means for webmasters to test their pages, presumably because they want to keep their scoring mechanisms a secret.

How Can You Tell If Your Landing Page Is Optimized For Google’s Quality Standards?

Check out W3 Semantic Extractor and the Google site related keyword tool. What better way to get information about what Google thinks your site is about then using a tool designed by Google to figure out exactly what your site is about?

In summary, you need to ensure your page contains the same or similar terms as appear in the Adwords ad, and these terms need to be displayed prominently on your landing page in order to comply in terms of relevance.

If you go one step further and test your pages using the site related keyword tool, and the semantic extractor, you stand a good chance of achieving a high quality score.

Google’s Tips

Google, as usual, require you to read between the lines. Let’s examine some of their guidelines more closely:

Link to the page on your site that provides the most useful and accurate information about the product or service in your ad.

Ensure the landing page and the ad are identical in terms of subject matter. Click-backs can affect your quality score, so make sure you repeat the keyword term high up on the page, in bold, in your copy. This also helps reaffirm to the user that they’ve arrived at the right place.

If your site displays advertising, distinguish sponsored links from the rest of your site content

Your page can’t consist mostly of ads. I’ve seen a lot of pages getting away with this, however.

Try to provide information without requiring users to register. Or, provide a preview of what users will get by registering

Pretty obvious. Users typically don’t register for something unless they desperately want what you’re offering. There is a high likelihood they’ll click back if presented with registration as the only option.

In general, build pages that provide substantial and useful information to the end-user

That’s a big one. Google don’t want just an ad, and certainly not a misleading one. They want information, much the same as they require in the SERPS. Focus on providing user utility and you can’t go to far wrong.

If your landing page consists of mostly ads or general search results (such as a directory or catalog page), you should provide as much information as you can beyond what your ad describes. For example, if your ad mentions <’Free travel information,’ your landing page should feature free travel information (versus links to other sites that do).

Your page should be an informative destination in itself. Of course, you need to balance the commercial imperative – making a conversion – with an informational one.

You should have unique content (should not be similar or nearly identical in appearance to another site). For more information, see our affiliate guidelines.

As mentioned, earlier, Google will want to avoid showing the same page to users if they happen to click multiple ads. It’s not hard for Google to spot duplicate content, so make sure your text is original.

To avoid duplication, consider various angles. i.e. instead of talking about the product itself, provide a “how to solve a problem” page. This how-to, of course, will recommend the product in question. Tell a story about using the product, provide unique testimonials, etc. Avoid cutting and pasting from the suppliers website.

What Service?

Finally, a lot of the emails concerning the banning appear to have been sent to affiliates, both direct-to merchant and otherwise. There are some big spenders in there, so it looks like Google is tightening the noose on the middle man, once again.

It’s easy to understand the frustration, given the vagueness, and neatly summed up by a WebmasterWorld poster:

You buy a laptop for $1K from HP,DELL, or IBM. This laptop has much lower margins than sending a few bytes over the wire. Yet, if you have a problem you expect, and you will be able, to contact someone in support via toll-free phone, live chat or email to resolve the problem. If the result is not satisfactory, you can get the problem escalated to a case manager or eventually executive support. At some point someone with sufficient *authority* to fix your particular problem will respond.
But, if you spend $100K on ads, the best you can get is a vague automated email.

Using a Free URL Rotator

The most obvious benefit of a free URL rotator is the capability to show several web pages using only one link.  This would greatly reduce the effort and time needed to promote several services and/or products because you would only require a single link for all of them. What the free URL rotator does is show a different URL every time a person clicks on the link.  You can just imagine the advantages of having a single link for 100, 200 or even 300 web pages.  All you have to do is submit a list of the URLs to the provider of the free URL rotator service and the program will automatically go through the list as people click on the link that has been assigned to you.

However, it is important to ensure that the free website rotator that you get has not restrictions on the number of web pages that your able to use for  the rotator.  It is often the case that a rotator that is given for free will limit you to five, 10, or 15 web pages that can be shown for each link.  For example, you might have 15 web pages to advertise but you are only permitted five web pages by the free URL rotator.  You will then need a minimum of three rotators to show all of them.  Can you imagine how hard it would be to manage the number of rotators that you would require if you have 100 or more web pages to display?  This would hardly be practical, so it would be prudent to get a free URL rotator that has no such limitations on the number of web pages that you can put in the list.

A very important application of a free URL rotator is the split testing of a website.  What this means is that you can make several versions of a particular web page.  To illustrate, you can determine the best color for the web page that will cause visitors to take a certain action.  You can have several versions of each web page using a different color and you then submit the URLs to the free website rotator.  In this manner, you are able to make an experiment to see which of the colors had the most number of visitors taking the appropriate action that you need.  The free URL rotator may also be utilized by an advertising cooperative where several Internet marketers agree to buy shares for the right to have their URLs included in the rotator list.

Brushing and flossing are not always enough to stop gum disease, you often need much more than that. Your personal dental care is very important. But you still need to make sure that you brush and floss everyday too. In order to avoid the problems that are presented by this disease, here are some tips to follow.

First off do you know what gum disease is? It’s when your gums and bones are attacked by the bacteria that live in your mouth. Did you know that at one time more than one hundred different kinds of bacteria can be in your mouth, millions of them? Yes it’s a lot, and no wonder we have to do so much to kill them.

Brushing each day twice a day is something you need to consider as part of your basic dental care. But you also need to make sure that you brush for at least three minutes. Don’t use those hard bristle tooth brushes either. They could actually harm gum tissue and cause more harm than good.

Flossing should also be done each day of the week. After a snack or drink that is full of sugar you need to brush your teeth. So really the twice a day rule is the minimum amount of times you will be running that toothbrush across those teeth.

Don’t smoke, or use chewing tobacco. They will add stains to your teeth, and give that bacteria an even better chance to harm your gums. As the bacteria continue to feast on your gums and mouth, you will notice things that point to gum disease.

Most definitely if you notice your gums are bleeding almost all the time after brushing or flossing, you should consider going to a periodontist. This special kind of dentist is the top line of def when it comes to combatting .

As more and more people are becoming more environmentally aware they are more careful.They are more careful and thrifty in the type of energy that they use.  They are careful in the cars they drive.They become more picky with the products that they buy and use.And solar energy is gaining popularity during these times.  Solar energy is an alternative energy source but it is also clean and natural.  So it is very friendly to the environment.

Using solar panels is one way of harnessing this cheap source of energy.  A lot of people are having cheap solar panels installed on their homes.This is one way for people to save on money by lessening the expenses brought upon by energy usage.It also helped in reducing their carbon footprint.  So that is a great situation.

Losing Weight After Birthing – What You Should Know…

Google Real Time Results

The current popularity of Twitter and the fact that Twitter are trying to turn them selves into a real time search engine has made Google stand up and react.

 

Although we all know that fresh unique content was always essential to build power and authority on your site and also give your new post a freshness boost, there has been a slight tweak in the algo from what I am seeing over the last few days to give further power to fresh posts from authority and powerful sites.

 

What seems to be happening is that when a new post is created it gets indexed and then placed into a Top 10 position for some extremely competitive terms, this 10 over the next few days drops away on to page two, three and then finally disappears from the SERPs.

 

It seems as though Google have increased the algothirm to bring in fresh results a lot more. Once again this is nifty for that extra little bit of exposure.

 

One great example of this is the term “SEO“. First of all it was David Naylors post about geo targeting which came directly into the Top 10 and then slowly faded out as the post aged and then the Search engine journal post which hit the first page and then tardily started shifting out.

 

So could Google actually be heading for more real time results and if so could they want to strike up a partnership with Twitter, to see exactly which piece of fresh content actually deserves to have a ranking and which one does not, they could look at citations and also look at the amount of buzz and chatter that a certain post may be causing.

 

Whatsoever happens it will be beneficial to see how Google plan out this one and how it develops.
